Horrible mover! They are thieves and couldn't care less about your personal belongings. Boxes arrived torn apart, items missing and broken. Many items on the checklist were not there and the movers did not care, they just wanted to leave but still wanted a tip. JRM IS A JOKE! Stay away from Jordan River Moving!!

Jordan river moving company was contracted by a moving company that I hired. They had left one of my boxes on the truck and confirmed that the box was on the truck and would be redelivered next day. My moving company and myself reached out multiple times and mysteriously my box went missing and no one had answers. During my move, I ended up with someone else's furniture legs. No one is willing to help find my items and are unhelpful. They also on delivery tried to charge me $425 claiming that they didn't have my proper paperwork. Luckily I had the paperwork or I would of be charged. Proceed with caution when using them. It's a scam and the drivers they hire are thieves.

Avoid Jordan River Please!!! They are the Worst!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!! We moved long distance using this company and it was the worst service we have ever received and previously moving as a military officer it was really the worst. We had red flags from day one. First, they low balled all other movers. The employees picking up our property did not comprehend proper English, they could not explain the paperwork, and they did an inadequate job at properly listing all of our property running out of their numbered stickers, using some little backups so later on when the furniture was being delivered it turned into a nightmare to verify. Their traffic coordinator for the move was not a "Rocket Scientists", but an inefficient idiot - After speaking with him for almost 10 days inquiring as to the status of our property he was shocked to tell me my property was still in the warehouse in Kirkland. Go figure??? Even funnier was to try and get help from their so-called customer service lady-- She never seemed to offer any assistance but could only recite "You should have read your contract". I don't believe she knows how to spell service or much less the definition. Then finally the day arrived for the furniture to be delivered - I might point out it was close to a month from the time they picked up and no it was not an international delivery- Just across country. They had to shuttle and I wound up paying additional for this - "You should have read your contract". The guys were very nice but Sammy was an AH. We had done our own packing but a lot of the boxes were really damaged from the storage process and the handling from vehicle to vehicle to warehouse and back on a truck. I can't wait to experience their claim process as I am sure it will be a joke and getting anything for our damaged goods will be like pulling teeth as I have read from other reviews. Please listen to me on this as I am advising you to keep away from having to go through this. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

#&* Thank you for sharing. A neighbor on Nextdoor recommended Jordan River and I’m glad I checked them on and you took the time to post your horrible experience using them.

I’m afraid to ask how your claim went with them.

Thank you again for saving me from an awful experience. I rely on reviews when I am buying or paying for something.

Terrible Move

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Stay away from this terrible company. We specifically chose them because of their BS pitch about taking extra precautions with your belongings and making sure everything is protected. They explicitly stated that they put down covering on your wood floors to protect it during the move. During the move they damaged many items by carrying items that were too heavy for 1 person so they banged around the items too much because they could not control the item by themselves. By the time I got to the scene they had been moving heavy items into the home WITHOUT any floor protection whatsoever. Needless to say, they dropped heavy items on the floor and caused quite a few dents. Now they are telling me they will not do anything to make me whole because this is their policy: "In addition, Jordan River Moving is not liable to the interior or exterior of any residence including, but not limited to: walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, banisters, carpets, etc." So apparently they are free to damage your house freely and not have to do anything to rectify the situation because it is their policy. It has now been almost 2 months since our move and they have done absolutely nothing about all the damage they created during our move. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

Misbehaving and rude driver. Dishonest sales man. Unprofessional company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Before delivery, I had clearly noted to the dispatch on phone the intersection of streets where truck should arrive to deliver my goods. However, the truck came at a different intersection. I was easily charged $100 more as the distance of the point where truck actually came to my apartment door was a lot more than the other one. I told the driver to measure the other distance and he rejected that thought with no reasons.

There was some damage done to my furniture which I wanted the driver to note down in the exception section. The driver SHERMOE wouldn’t agree to do so. Instead, he started verbally fighting with me. He raised his voice, started using statements like “I know how to deal with customers like you”, “You have paid nothing for this move” etc. It was scary and threatening. He insulted me all throughout the time he was inside my apartment. At the end, he left my dining table unassembled on the floor. He even asked me to help him assemble the bed as he only had one other person from other third party company. The whole experience was scary and the driver was verbally abusive. I am in touch with my legal counsel to see what my legal rights are in this case. I

I had requested the customer care to have the owner of this company call me to discuss driver’s behavior. He never called, however

The sales representative John told me the following over the phone at the time of selling the moving service.

1. Jordan River is a direct moving company and not a broker and they only use Jordan River trucks.

2. During pick-up and delivery, I would only see Jordan River people and no one else.

3. He also tried his level best to prove that another company “all state movers inc” were a broker and not a direct company like Jordan River because they didn’t have their own trucks and their own people.

In absence of above 3 factors, a company has basically negotiated a deal with some other moving vendors which is a key to identify a company as direct moving company or broker. It was really important for me to hand over my goods to a direct moving company that won’t negotiate a deal with some other moving company.

At the time of pickup, there was a Jordan River truck and Jordan River people. However, this wasn’t the case at the time of delivery. The truck was from a company named MAP Moving & Storage, Miami FL. The driver had no helpers from Jordan River with him. He called a helper from a third party company. There was a big confusion while the driver and his helper were moving my furniture in to my apartment. The driver had not clearly told the helper that he would also have to help him assemble the furniture. The other person clearly explained me that the driver had not mentioned that before. The driver started shouting on him and there was a lot of chaos. My move was delayed by 20 minutes

All in all, this company tells you everything wrong about itself. The sales person lies to you about the company and how the move would take place. After your goods leave Seattle area, it is some other company that handles your goods. Not sure how many hops the goods go through. In my case, boxes were damaged, scratches on tables, broken guitar chords etc.

Lost/Misplaced Boxes

I wish you guys could have told me how 6 boxes went missing in my cross-country move. One of them held an Italian vintage nativity set my mother had given me that is irreplaceable. I had used you for 2 moves prior to the cross-country with no complaints, or anything missing. Sometime after my belongings were loaded for storage in Seattle and then reloaded for transit to Indiana, 6 boxes went missing. I was told sometimes the numbered stickers listed on the full list of contents weren't really put on a box but rather got misplaced or the sticker couldn't be used, or even the boxes got misplaced by Jordan and there was no way to know where (serious?). If the labels were not used/useable, then why weren't they marked as such? And possible misplacement of boxes???? Oh, and we won't go into how a carefully packed box of pottery had all the contents completely obliterated (no damage to the box). Customer service was good - I'm just disappointed at the loss without a reasonable explanation.

Jordan river...TERRIBLE!!!!!!

I wish more than anything that in had read all this prior to using this unprofessional company! They have had the worst communication with me, no one ever knows what's going on! I had been told when I first called that my things would arrive on a particular date...now I'm being told that it won't be delivered on that agreed upon date! They have made moving far more stressful than it needed to be. Now here I sit in Texas getting ready to sleep on the floor because Jordan River couldn't be bothered to actually deliver things on time! I'm pissed off and I haven't even gone through delivery yet! The money I'm having to pay them now is absurd and they don't deserve a penny! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jordan River Movers

The estimate was accurate and I used this company because of the glowing reviews they had received I also was offered a 10% discount. I did a move across town and the move was for furniture only. The crew that showed up did not put down any covering on the floor until I told them to. Seemed to be in too big a hurry and dropped my dryer on the stairs (instead of using an appliance mover) and broke the top. Gouged walls, left wrapping paper and empty tape rolls wherever they dropped them and left a large pile of garbage in my garage. I actually had to show them how to move my couch out of the living room as they were trying to force it through the door. The icing on the cake was when two of them were walking past my son and I and made a comment in Spanish and then started laughing. My son (who speaks Spanish) told me they just called us ***. I would not recommend these jokers to anyone the aggravation, damage and insults were not worth the few dollars I saved.

Jordan River Moving - SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT!!!! I selected the services of Jordan River Movers for my relocation from Seattle, WA to Naples, FL. My belonging were picked up on 2/28 and promised to be on a truck for Florida on 3/2. Today is 3/24 and my belongings are still "in transit". Repeated calls go unanswered or, on the occasional response, I get nothing but excuses. I JUST WANT MY FURNITURE! This outfit is nothing but a SCAM. The sales person, John, guaranteed everything would be great...however, once the sale was complete, John refused to return my calls or provide assistance. He merely passed me on to Dispatch and this is where the lies get really good!

Cheated, overcharged, held my stuff hostage, hung up my phone calls, kept me waiting for 11 hours

These are fraudsters and not movers. They increased the weight of my stuff by 20% after packing in order to charge higher. When I raised this as a concern after they packed and moved my stuff, they mentioned that they would have me come in and validate at the scale when the stuff arrives at the new state. Despite reminding this to the co-ordinator and to the driver, their driver came directly to my apartment. When I insisted I want to re-weigh, the driver started driving towards the scale without telling which one. And then, he stops his truck right on the road saying that the truck broke down. I waited for 3 hours and left from there. When it was late evening, the owner called and asks me to go to a scale. As I start driving, the driver then calls me and tells me he is still moving the stuff to another truck and cannot make it to the scale. The owner then calls me and says why do I want to re-weigh? I should trust them or else they'll go off to the next state. After 11 hours of waiting, this is what I got. I felt really helpless, asked them to come and deliver. They wouldn't bring the truck near the parking unless I pay them the full amount. And then I was shocked seeing the exact same truck that they bought for delivery. Stuff has been missing, stuff came in damaged, but the biggest problem is that they cheat. Please stay away from these fraudsters and avoid making your move a nightmare

Jordan River Moving

I used the same company back in 2008 for moving from Apt A (second floor) to Apt B . And from Apt (B) to Apt C ( second floor) . The first move from these same guys took 2 an half hours, and the second one took 4 hours !! I absolutely bought no extra furniture between these two moves and if anything for the second move we moved a lot of stuff ourselves. To add to the situations the main mover ( who interacts with you) were not friendly at all unlike the last time. So I guess it is a hit or miss with these guys, and I am not planning to use them in future

Jordan River Moving LOST MY STUFF!!!

jordan river moving delivered all of my items except for a 5'x3'x3' container. that is the size of a human being that dissapeared without a trace. they only weigh the items when they arrive the the facility. they do not weigh when they place them back onto a truck for delivery, as a result, they cant even say if it even got onto the truck to be delivered. when confronted they pass the buck to an outside insurance company who only offers settlement based on weight. so they would offer under $50 for losing an entire container of my items. they claim "this has never happened before" yet refuse any reasonable resolve. in addition they broke a dvd rack and would have noticed this had they removed the packing blankets from it (convieniently forgot?). they are nice enough on the phone but when something goes wrong, they pass the buck. they are terrible people with terrible business practices. these people do not deserve to have jobs. they should be out of business and should be living on the street.

Jordan River Moving - Do not use

This company is the worst. Simply put they do not agree to what amount they quoted. Their communication is terrible. Their bring a person to view what items are to be moved and I told them specificly and they make their estimate closest as possible. They said 3300 lbs 300 was the 10% as a cushion. I told them it can't be I said it should be around 2000 lbs plus 200 for the cushion. comes out to be 2280 lbs..maybe I should be the one who is calculating the weight estimate. There is just some many problems I can't even begin to write more of how bad they are. When I call them , they have no customer service skills. Just to note: If you are a service company...the customer is always correct and you will have to listen. that is the most important thing as a service business "LISTEN" not talking back or try to explain your errors. IT is "LISTEN" and resolve the issue.

Jordan River Moving - stolen car, iPods; JRM missing employee's name

Jordan River Moving and Storage - so far missing two iPods and, briefly, MY CAR, and Jordan River Moving is missing the name of the alleged criminal they hired to unload goods into my home. I moved across country and contacted Isaac’s Relocation, as I was pleased with how they’d handled a past move. On learning Isaac’s would be subcontracting to Jordan River Moving and Storage, the direct quote I’d previously gotten from Jordan River Moving was so much lower I went with them. Despite seeing negative web reviews, if Isaac’s used them, that was good enough for me. This is very unfortunate because so far I am missing two iPods and, briefly, my car. The key was apparently not hidden well enough and it would seem one of the Jordan River movers stole the key and then my car either during the move or when one came back a little later saying he’d dropped his cell phone during the move -- he’d been in my house already, less supervised, and if something went wrong Jordan River Moving had his information -- right? WRONG. I did not realize how big a mistake it was until I discovered on asking Jordan River Moving about the alleged thief that they DID NOT GET ANY INFORMATION ON HIM -- Apparently, Jordan River Moving’s truck driver is an employee, but of the second person unloading goods into my home – Jordan River Moving and Storage has no records, not a name, not an address, not a driver’s license photocopy, not anything. It may be industry practice to hire local workers at the delivery end of moves, but Jordan River Moving did nothing in the way of due diligence let alone even recording a name. Running a full background check may be expensive, but doing a web search is free and takes little time, and may turn up useful results from local police, court, and sex offender lists. It only takes a name and address, which Jordan River Moving did not have. I guess I should feel extremely lucky Jordan River Moving hired only the alleged thief who stole items in my house instead of having someone committing more serious crimes. When confronted with how incomprehensibly irresponsible Jordan River Moving has been in this situation, their customer service replied “We have the right to hire whoever we want.” That is a direct quote, not out of context. They do not seem to comprehend or care that when they sent him into my home under the Jordan River Moving name it confers a reasonable expectation of, if not a full background check and bonding, at the very least knowing their worker’s basic personal information so I could give it to the police if something went wrong as it did in this case. Jordan River’s customer service only response in the way of remedy is to say “Call the police,” but the police can’t do anything further without the basic personal information one would expect an employer to take on an employee or hired worker. The call with Jordan River Moving and Storage’s customer service proved to me that they are more interested in weaseling out of their responsibility in the situation than dealing with the fact that they may be sending thieves and other criminals into people’s homes, and that they seemed quite defiant to keep doing so. Fortunately, the alleged criminal employed by Jordan River Moving parked my car in a permit-only location and got it towed. Several hundred dollars later for impound retrieval, an expensive refill of gas, $1000 to get the car keys changed, a few hundred to replace the iPods, and assorted other steps I’ll want to take to buff up security, the situation seems to be resolving itself…I hope. I’m still unpacking, so every box that hasn’t had something stolen by Jordan River Moving is a new relief. The experience with Jordan River has been poor throughout – along with the criminal activity, that “low price” now means “cheap” to me which conveys “low quality” (and the cost of replacing/repairing the stolen goods is higher than the savings was supposed to be). It’s tough to concentrate on all the phone calls which were not returned, incorrect information, lackadaisical attitude, and overall frustration it has been having Jordan River Moving and Storage handle my move when that’s all been overshadowed by the stunning lack of even the slightest consciousness of due diligence and sense of responsibility in their hiring practices which may include thieves and other criminals. To anyone who values personal safety and the safety of loved ones, and the safety of material possessions I advise – Do not use Jordan River Moving and Storage. A web search will produce a number of other terrible reviews – which sadly I did not listen to because Isaac’s Relocation was vouching for them by subcontracting to them. I hope others needing to move will read these reviews, be very careful that the moving company will not use a reprehensible subcontractor like Jordan River Moving and Storage, and take personal steps to make sure they are covered in case the movers may have hired a thief or other criminal like Jordan River Moving. I would suggest telling the company that you want a copy of an ID for anyone who will be entering your home as a minimal step. Customer Service Response

As the owner of Jordan River Moving & Storage I would like to take moment to respond to the complaint filed by this customer. I would first like to say that this customer is grossly misrepresenting the facts of this move. I met the customer personally when I did his visual estimate in Seattle. Since he was a referral from Isaacs Moving I gave him a “do not exceed estimate” based upon his previous move weight of 5,200 lbs. His mother was the one who was coordinating the pick up with us. She was very rude to me, our movers and to our customer service. We allowed her to write whatever she wanted on the contract. Her attitude completely changed when we weighed the shipment and informed her that the weight was less than her previous move of 5,200 lbs. We refunded the customer accordingly. For delivery the driver hired a temp worker to help unload the shipment in Baltimore. We delivered the items on time within the promised time frame, nothing was damaged or missing. The customer signed all his moving documents, stating that he had received all of his items and that they were in good condition. The day after the delivery the customer called to tell us that he was missing items. He informed us that the temp worker had come back stating that he had lost his cell phone in the customer’s house during the move the previous day. He allowed the man to enter his house and look around unsupervised. The customer stated that the temp worker came into his house and took some of his items. The customer called us looking to get the man’s name and our customer service representative told him she would look into the situation and get back to him. The following day the customer called back again claiming that his car was now missing. When the customer service representative asked if he had contacted the police, he responded that he had not contacted the police because he was waiting for us to get information about the temp worker. She asked him, “Why wouldn’t you call the police, when your car is missing.” The whole situation is very strange and we are not responsible for anything that may have happened when the customer let someone into his home unsupervised. We cannot even be sure this was the same person who helped our mover unload the items. Once the move is completed and all the paperwork is signed the moving company is no longer responsible. During all phases of the move nothing was missing or damaged. Every thing was done professionally and the delivery was completed on time, for less money than the customer had expected to pay. For the customer to say that he received poor service from Jordan River Moving & Storage is not only rude, it is simply untrue. I urge any potential customer reading this complaint to look at all of the wonderful reviews there are about our company. We would also be more than happy to provide anyone with referrals from other customers who were very happy with the service they received from our company. We would also like to make it clear that the “facts” this customer provided about our company are completely false and untrue.

Jordan River Moving does not have any information on the person they hired, who turned out to be a criminal, and THAT is why anyone looking for a moving company should be scared to use them.

That point is not in contention - read Jordan River Moving's whole response and you'll see they are interested in covering themselves, not in the fact that they are dangerous.

Jordan river moving stinks--avoid

these guys are total jerks. they moved in the people who lived next door to me. they pulled up their huge truck and ripped off this huge limb of one of our trees. when we went out to chat with them about it, they literally ignored us. just looked at us and walked away. we asked them what their names were so we could call the company and talk to them about it. when they wouldn't reply, my husband went in to get his camera, to take photos of the truck, the damage to the tree and the guys. the guys, whom i wonder may not be legally here in the u.s., got so upset and agressive about the camera, that my husband had to threaten to call the police if they didn't calm down. when we went in our house, the guys ripped off the big limb, causing even more damage, and tried to hide it in their truck! like they were removing the evidence. anyway, it cost us $200 to hire some guys to fix the tree--we couldn't do it ourselves because the branch that had to be repaired was leaning on a power line and we were worried about that. we called jordan river to chat about the issue and they didn't seem to care much. the woman on the phone was nice enough but never called back after she said she'd have a chat with the boss. we think they should have paid for the tree service, since obviously they did the damage. i wouldn't hire these guys unless you don't care about *** off your new neighbors ;)
